Christendom’s response in light of #churchtoo grieves me — viscerally. You won’t risk your position for the 1 — for fear of the 99.
You have lost your Christ, your character, and your chest.
“We make men without chests and expect of them virtue and enterprise. We laugh at honour and are shocked to find traitors in our midst.”
– CS Lewis
You clasp your hands and sit in silence on the throne of your “ministry” while victims are slaughtered and willfully silenced on YOUR watch.
You ignore the hell in your midst for the “kingdom of heaven.”
You claim you have no power.
You should be oppressed sometime.
Give it a try.
Here are my shoes.
Walk a mile.
Here is my cloak.
Take that too.
Tell me again about the Christ.
He seeks the suffering.
You know nothing of his kind.
Let’s not pretend that we don’t know how kingdoms work.
They need kings and underlings.
Christ proclaimed, “My kingdom is not of this world.”
But Christendom’s sure is.
Your kingdom will come —
In fact it is here.
Your will is being done.
In your desire to become “good” your chest has lost its contents.
You have become very bad men.
“The good man’s past begins to change so that his forgiven sins and remembered sorrows take on the quality of Heaven: the bad man’s past already conforms to his badness and is filled only with dreariness.
And that is why…the Blessed will say “We have never lived anywhere except in Heaven, and the Lost, “We were always in Hell.” And both will speak truly.”
