“I wonder,” she whisper screams.
I wonder if anyone can hear?
If all ears are clogged with cacophony.
I wonder if anyone can see?
If all eyes are dim – all sight silenced with praise.
I wonder if anyone can speak?
If all lips are licked with lies.
I wonder if anyone can think?
If all thought is truncated by tricks.
I wonder if anyone can grasp?
If all hands are greased with greed.
I wonder if anyone can move?
If all feet are frozen with fear.
I wonder if anyone can be just?
If justice has been bludgeoned to death.
“I wonder,” says me with clarity.
“I wonder.”
