Nobody

“Belief in the existence of a human being as such: is love.” – Simone Wiel

Clearly she gave birth to somebody,

Yet Nobody was my name.

Nobody is invisible.

Nobody has no needs.

No one comes to Nobody when she cries,

Is cold, afraid or alone.

Nobody.

Nobody doesn’t get gifts,

Nourishment or known.

You don’t touch Nobody with love.

It’s true you can beat the air with your fists;

Or grind your groin into the space where Nobody is.

Nobody’s screams are silent, because Nobody has no voice.

You don’t come back for Nobody.

Nobody is easily forgotten.

Have you seen Nobody?

Shame, neither did I.
